8BitDo have been praised for their simple but extremely customisable controllers and the company is now taking a stab at the more expensive Pro controller market. The latest product is the 8BitDo Ultimate Controller which is available in a wireless or wired option with the bluetooth version and 2.4g versions including a special charging dock. The 8BitDo Ultimate Controller is compatible with the Nintendo Switch, Windows, Android, and iOS devices. The Verge says that the “Ultimate Controller seems poised to serve as a more capable alternative to the official Switch Pro controller and a worthy successor to the 8BitDo Pro 2.” Amazon has the device priced up at $70 and coming 28th October with pre-orders starting now.

This looks top! I recently got a new Pro Controller so will have to pass. But 8bitdo controllers are great, so I’m tempted. I got a SNES style one (with motion controls!) that I use for my PC gaming. Works a treat.
It would be perfect if it had a turbo function.
It looks nice but It’s the same price as the official nintendo pro controller.. better off to buy that instead
not really since this is probably less likely to drift lol
It’s the Joy Cons which have a drifting problem, not the Pro Controllers. Had my Pro Controller since launch and use it regularly, never had a single drifting issue after all these years.
The pro controllers don’t drift, that’s the joycons.
My pro controller has drift and also the dpad is malfunctioning, so… It’s only a matter of luck. I have 2 8bitdo controllers and this baby is joining the family
Of course they do. They use the same ALPS potentiometers than PS5/XSX controllers, that are prone to drift on 400h of heavy use, according to DF.
This 8bitdo Bluetooth controller has hall sensor modules, so no drift ever.
Nice design and controller. Wish this has a turbo function.
I am not so satisfied woth my 8BitDo SN30 Pro controller using with the switch. Most of the time i have to multiply try to connect it and sometimes i have to repair the controller. Believe me, it‘s not so much fun, when kidz want to play. Also it is not possible to turn on the switch wireless. I don‘t know if this issues have been solved on this model but i am out on 8BitDo and prefer the original Nintendo Pro controller
